Purpose Statement

My purpose for this blog is to demonstrate, via literature, that objective truth in the form of God’s metanarrative does, indeed, exist.  Drawing my inspiration from Paul’s address to the Areopagus, I believe it is possible to illustrate abstract ideas by expressing them in the form of a story and then placing an emphasis on the practical applications (NIV Ac 17:22-31; Veith 226).

I believe, against the tide of current literary criticism’s propensity toward deconstruction, that a work of literature reflects the heart of the author and is a personal expression of an author’s inward hopes, dreams, and desires, as well as his emotional pain and frustration that wells up within as he interacts with the world.  Building on this concept, I want to demonstrate how crucial it is to embrace literature as an outcry of a shared human experience.
